|
Photographs of Lincoln, digitally reproduced to life-size, hang alongside original 19th-century images and artifacts that tell the story of his tumultuous presidency. Our contributions include:
• A rare copy of the Emancipation Proclamation signed by Abraham Lincoln.
• Lincoln’s calipers—a crucial tool he used to follow troop movements and plan strategies during the Civil War.
• An important Lincoln letter on his fight against slavery.
• A ratification copy of the 13th amendment abolishing slavery, signed by William Seward, Lincoln's Secretary of State.
The exhibit is on view until June 6th at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut.
