Summary:

A pair of boldly signed photographs. Jefferson Davis’ photograph was taken circa 1864, while president of the Confederate States, by Vannerson in Richmond, Virginia. His wife’s was taken around 1867 when they traveled to Canada and then to England before returning to Memphis. She boldly signed, “as ever your devoted friend Varina Davis.” Jefferson Davis served as the only President of the Confederate States of America, from 1861 to 1865. Jefferson and Varina Davis
